“Harmony of the Gospels – Order of Events”

This material quoted from the following source unless mentioned otherwise:

Holy Bible (Heilige Schrift) Hardcover – 2008 – this Bible contains the 1611 King James Version and the Martin Luther 1912 German text on the opposite pages.

I study this version of the Holy Scriptures frequently and the study guides presented in this book are a great resource if willing to accept the the task.

Harmony of the Gospels – Order of Events

We follow the natural order contained in the scriptures, beginning with Jesus pre existence with the Father through all Eternity. Next come the announcements of His coming. The bright stars of prophecy which arose in the sky of Jewish history foretelling the appearance of a Mighty Savior. Then there are facts concerning his infancy and early life including the silent years of his obscurity. Suddenly he emerges from his home, in Nazareth, and begins his public career. The events of his ministry are arranged as nearly as possible in the order in which they appear in the New Testament record. There is a considerable difference of opinion concerning the sequence of events of some portions of his work, but they are arranged here according to the best harmonies of the gospels.

1. The Pre-Existent Christ

Hebrews 13:8, Hebrews 7:3

Micah 5:2

All events mentioned point to the Star of Bethlehem:

Matthew 2:2

The prophetic promises of a coming Messiah are in these passages. They appeared like bright stars in the different periods of the dark night of Hebrew history. They shine forth one after another until the close of Old Testament prophesy, all pointing to the Star of Bethlehem.
